About Brasília
Brasília is the capital of Brazil, with a population of nearly 3 million inhabitants. It boasts unique urban architecture, is situated 1,000 meters above sea level, and hosts the headquarters of the three branches of the Republic (Executive, Legislative, and Judiciary), as well as 127 embassies from various countries. During the event (September 2023), spring will just be beginning, bringing pleasant temperatures ranging from 18°C to 31°C and dry weather. The city’s electrical voltage is 220V, and it follows the Brazilian standard for three-pin outlets (NBR 14136).
How to Get to Brasília
Brasília has one main airport: Brasília International Airport – Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek, located in the southern part of the city, approximately 19 km from IDP.
In addition to the airport, Brasília also has a bus station: Brasília Bus Terminal, situated in the southern part of the city, approximately 5 km from IDP.
For those arriving by car, the main access routes to Brasília are: BR-020, which connects Brasília to the northern region of the country, passing through Goiás and the Northeast; BR-040, which connects Brasília to Belo Horizonte and Rio de Janeiro; BR-060, which links Brasília to southern Goiás and Mato Grosso do Sul; BR-050, which connects Brasília to São Paulo, passing through Goiás and Minas Gerais.
Safety Tips
Like many metropolises and tourist destinations, it is always advisable to follow some safety tips. Be mindful of your surroundings. Avoid wearing jewelry or carrying items that might attract attention. Do not leave your bag unattended; always keep it close to your body. Avoid keeping your wallet in your back pocket, especially in crowded areas, and minimize unnecessary phone use, staying alert to your surroundings. Never throw caution to the wind.
