Alejandro Sierra
PhD in Economics from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. My research agenda is linked to search models in the context of labor markets and family economics (macroeconomics). Specifically, I am interested in exploring the causal relationship between family violence and the labor market. I also teach different economics topics (microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics) at the undergraduate level at the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María.

Eloiza Almeida
Belavista University
PhD in Economic Theory from the University of São Paulo (FEA-USP, 2025) and Master’s in Economics and Development from the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP, 2020). She is a researcher at the Family and Gender Economics Study Group (GeFam). Her main research interests include: Labor Economics, Regional Economics, Gender Economics, Evaluation of Social Programs and Public Policies, and Microeconometrics. She was the winner of the 24th Werner Baer Award in Regional Economics, promoted by ANPEC-Northeast and Banco do Nordeste (BNB), achieving 1st place in the Scientific Article category in 2020. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Centro Universitário Fundação Santo André (2006). She received an award for her undergraduate thesis in 2007: 2nd place in the 12th Corecon-SP Award for Excellence in Economics.

Florencia Amabile
Universidad de la República
Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the Facultad de Ciencias Sociales at the Universidad de la República, Uruguay. She is a member of Uruguay’s National System of Researchers (SNI), currently ranked at Level I. She obtained her Ph.D. in Economics in 2022 from Universidad de la República. Her research interests include inequality, labor economics, quantitative macroeconomics, experimental economics, and gender and family economics.

Giovanna Úbida
FGV EESP
PhD in Economics from Insper (2025), with a research internship at Princeton University (2024) as a Visiting Student Research Collaborator. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher in Economics at FGV EESP. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from FECAP (2019). She served as a teaching assistant for Econometrics I and Asset Pricing at Insper. Her research focuses on Econometrics and Applied Microeconomics, with an emphasis on Development Economics, particularly in the areas of economics of crime, justice system institutions, gender, and public policy evaluation.

Jordana Cristina de Jesus
UFRN
Professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, in the Department of Demography and Actuarial Sciences. She is a member of the Graduate Program in Demography (UFRN). She is PhD in Demography (UFMG, 2018) and develops research in the areas of family and unpaid domestic work.

Kelly Gonçalves dos Santos

Graduated in Economics from the University of São Paulo (2017), with a master’s degree in economics from the São Paulo School of Economics (2020), and a Ph.D. in Economics from the São Paulo School of Economics (2024). Spent a period as a Visiting Student at the University of Georgia (UGA) in 2023. Worked as a Research Assistant at the Society of Family and Gender Economics (Gefam). Professor of Mathematics and Microeconomics in the undergraduate and master's programs in Economics at FGV EESP.

Kênia de Souza

Associate professor in the Department of Economics at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) and at the Graduate Program in Economic Development (PPGDE) at the same university. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2015). Her main areas of research include: computable general equilibrium, input-output analysis, gender economics, social economics, and labor economics

Laura Schiavon

Assistant Professor at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora, Department of Economics. I received a Ph.D. in Economics from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro in 2017. I was a visiting researcher at the University of California – Berkeley from September 2014 to May 2015. My research focuses on Domestic Violence, Economics of Crime, and Justice. Co-founder of Leme - Laboratory for Violence Reduction. Invited Researcher JOI Brazil - J-PAL and Gender and Economic Agency Initiative - J-PAL. Researcher at the Center for Applied Research to Public Safety (FGV). Member of the Family and Gender Economics Study Group (GeFam).

Maria Dolores

Holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of São Paulo and is Full Professor at the Department of Economics from the University of Sao Paulo. She is a member of the Brazilian Women in Economics research group. Paula develops research in health economics and policy impact evaluation.

Valdemar Neto
FGV EPGE
Valdemar Neto holds a master’s degree and Ph.D. in Economics from EPGE Brazilian School of Economics and Finance (FGV EPGE). He is currently a Professor at FGV EPGE and coordinates the Center for Empirical Studies in Economics, also at FGV. His research focuses on the intersections of Labor, Applied Microeconomics, Economic Development, Political Economy, and Public Policy.

Valentina Paredes
University of Chile
Received her B.S. and Master in Economics from the University of Chile, and obtained her PhD in Economics at the University of California, Berkeley. In November 2012, she joined the Department of Economics at the University of Chile as an Assistant Professor. She is also an Associate Researcher at the Centre for Social Conflict and Cohesion Studies (COES) .Her main research areas are Economics of Education, Economics of Gender, Applied Econometrics and Applied Micro. She uses applied micro econometric techniques to study the determinants of gender gaps in education and public policies to reduce them, and the effect of teachers on student achievement.
